Prawn Mee, Human I!

Jalan Sultan Prawn MeePrawnNoodleRating

Address:

No 2 Jalan Ayer , Singapore
Opposite Kallang MRT
(Closed on Tuesdays)

Tucked away just on the outskirts of one of Singapore’s famous and also infamous areas "Geylang” is a coffee shop that always seems to have a crowed.  I’ve driven/walked past it many a times yet have never walked in and had a bite to eat; that was until one fine weekend.

Hanging out with the Chili Padi with nothing much to do we were debating where to go and eat lunch with her parents when someone suggested “Prawn Noodles”, so we all bounded to this little unassuming coffee shop for a prawn noodle fix!

The coffee shop does tend to get hot and sticky, so if you’re going to come here dress lightly and empty your stomach beforehand, ‘cause you’re going to want to finish everything in your bowl by the end of things!

Verdict: I’ve tried quite a lot of prawn noodle places since being here; and I have to say that this is truly one of the better one’s that I’ve had.  The prawns were done just nicely and the mee was firm to the bite, the killer to those bowl of goodness was the soup!  Every mouthful you can taste the sweetness of the pork and prawn swimming around in your mouth, combine a mouthful of noodles with a mouthful of soup and you have a little party going on in your mouth!

The only downsides to this place would have to be the parking (if you’re fortunate to have a car that is), it really can be difficult to park your car here at times, and the susceptibility of melting down when you’re eating your bowl of noodles; the place can get quite hot in a very short space of time.  It’s a nice place; don’t get me wrong, and yes I’ll be sure to be back again and again and again!
